Божидар Василев

Between 2007 and 2010 Bojidar Vassilev sang with the State Opera Rousse, in seasons whose casts also drew on Anna Gemedjieva, Plamen Beykov, Georgios Filadelfefs and Stefan Penchev. Elena Boyadzhieva worked on these productions as an assistant stage director. Among the productions he appeared in were stagings by the Swiss director Gian Gianotti. A baritone, he joined the Rousse company as a soloist in 2006, taking the title role in Guillaume Tell and leading baritone parts in Don Pasquale, Le nozze di Figaro, Lucia di Lammermoor, Eugene Onegin and Don Giovanni. He also sang in the house's premiere of Faust, given for the March Music Days in the season before that Guillaume Tell. He comes from Plovdiv and took a master's degree in classical singing at the National Academy of Music in Sofia before continuing at Opera Studio Nederland in Amsterdam and in Rome and Graz. Several years in the Biel/Solothurn theatre ensemble and appearances in France, Spain and Switzerland belong to the same career, and he teaches singing.
