Elena Maximova joined the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre in 2000, after studying at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and built there a repertoire: Rosina, Isabella, Olga, Charlotte, Suzuki, Prince Orlofsky and Carmen. The international houses followed — the Vienna State Opera, La Scala, the Metropolitan Opera, the Royal Opera House, the Paris Opera, the Bavarian State Opera, the Teatro Real. Eboli, Azucena, Marfa, Maddalena, Fenena and Polina have joined Carmen since. Her Bavarian State Opera debut came in 2005, and Giulietta in New York and Preziosilla in Paris have been added since.
