Cast in La Traviata, Elena Monti sang in the performance the State Opera Rousse gave in Sofia on 25 October 2016, in a company that included Marzio Giossi, Alexander Baranov, Maya Vladimirova and Petya Tsoneva. Ivan Popov and Steliana Dimitrova prepared the production. She came to that role from Milan, where she took her diploma at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory under Giovanna Canetti before further study at the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala. Her stage work has taken her to La Scala, the Teatro San Carlo, La Fenice and the Zurich Opera, in a repertoire reaching from the Baroque through Mozart and Verdi to Britten, with Fiordiligi, Donna Anna, Servilia and Mimì beside Violetta.
