Елиза Чо

September 2013 brought Elisa Cho to Sofia for the gala concluding Raina Kabaivanska's masterclass, given on the 20th with the orchestra of the Sofia National Opera and with Tsvetelina Kotseva, Desislava Stoimenova, Kostadin Mechkov and Anton Markov. Her training began in Seoul; from 2010 she worked with Raina Kabaivanska at the Vecchi-Tonelli Institute in Modena and in her masterclasses at the New Bulgarian University and the Chigiana Academy in Siena. A laureate of the Colzani competition, she was named best young progressive artist by the Music Association of Korea in 2010, held a Bayreuth Festival scholarship in 2011, and took the Transition Classic Prize of the Frankfurt Academy of Music in the summer of 2012. She has sung as a soloist at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden and made her debut at the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, her roles running from Adina, Susanna and Mimi to Nedda, Cio-Cio-San, Amelia and Aida.
