Биография
Slovak by birth and based in New York, Filip Pogády studied at the Manhattan School of Music with Pinchas Zukerman. He plays concertos, recitals and chamber music at Lincoln Center, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Rudolfinum in Prague, the Seoul Arts Center and in halls in Japan and Israel, in a repertoire that runs from the violin classics to contemporary and popular collaborations. Alongside the concert career he has worked in fashion. He grew up in Vienna, began the violin at seven and a year later entered the pre-college of the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz, gave his first solo recital at ten and won a violin competition at eleven as its youngest entrant, which led straight to an orchestral debut at the Konzerthaus; three first prizes at Prima La Musica and a distinction from the Austrian string society followed, and the Manhattan studies were on a full scholarship. Through Yehudi Menuhin's Live Music Now! he has given concerts in orphanages, care homes, prisons and hospitals, and he has played Bach's solo sonatas in the New York subway.
