Габриеле Манджоне

October 2016 brought Gabriele Mangione to Sofia for the State Opera Rousse's La Traviata, in a cast with Marzio Giossi, Alexander Baranov, Maya Vladimirova and Petya Tsoneva; the production had been prepared by Ivan Popov and Steliana Dimitrova. The tenor comes from Soleto, studied with Cinzia Alessandroni at the Perugia Conservatory and entered the Scuola dell'Opera Italiana at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna in 2008, where his parts were Bruno in I puritani, Prunier in La rondine, Goro in Madama Butterfly and Rodolfo in La bohème. Heavier roles followed, Calaf, Luigi in Il tabarro, Manrico and Radamès, and among the houses that have engaged him are the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Teatro Regio in Turin and the Opéra Bastille.
