Джорджо Крочи

Giorgio Croci belongs to the internationally established ranks of opera conductors. He has appeared at the Arena di Verona, at the Fenice in Venice and at many other opera houses worldwide, and conducted the monumental productions of Aida staged in Luxor and Giza. Born in Reggio Emilia, he took up the violin at eight with Borciani, completed studies in composition at the Verona Conservatory and studied orchestral conducting in Rome and Venice with Franco Ferrara, working afterwards alongside Giuseppe Patane, Anton Guadagno and Nello Santi, and in symphonic repertoire with Yuri Ahronovitch. He has lectured at the Verona Conservatory. His engagements have taken in the Komische Oper Berlin, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, the Teatro del Giglio in Lucca, the festival of Martina Franca, the Grosses Festspielhaus in Salzburg, the Teatro de Sao Carlos in Lisbon, the Cairo Opera, the State Opera in Prague, the Opera Royal de Wallonie in Liege, the Seoul Arts Center and the Solothurn festival in Switzerland.
