Биография
Gustavo Porta's Teatro Colón debut came in 1996, three years before he crossed to Europe and began there with a Carmen in Padua. Born at Carrilobo in the province of Córdoba, he trained at the conservatory in Córdoba and at the Colón's Instituto Superior de Arte, and has since sung the heavy Italian and French repertoire — Verdi, Puccini, Bizet and the verismo composers — at the Vienna State Opera and the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Liceu and the Teatro Real, the New National Theatre in Tokyo, the San Carlo, and the opera houses of Rome, Frankfurt, Leipzig and Marseille. Monostatos was the part of his Colón debut, and his repertoire has grown to take in Cavaradossi, Pinkerton, Turiddu, Enzo Grimaldi, Dick Johnson and Andrea Chénier. He worked further in classes with Régine Crespin and Guillermo Opitz, and has appeared at the National Theatre in Prague.
