Биография
Studies with Margit Kapossy led István Kovácsházi, born in Budapest in 1967, to first engagements at the Csokonai Theatre in Debrecen and the Budapest Operetta Theatre; from 1997 he has been a soloist of the Hungarian State Opera. His repertoire moves from Mozart and the Italian lyric parts — Tamino, Pinkerton — to Walther von Stolzing, Lohengrin, Parsifal and Bacchus, the German roles bringing him to the Budapest Wagner Days. He holds the Franz Liszt Prize and the Hungarian title of Artist of Merit. Debrecen occupied 1994 and 1995, the Operetta Theatre the two seasons that followed, and from 2008 to 2014 he was a member of the Nationaltheater Mannheim. His Lohengrin at the Wagner Days came in 2011 and again in 2013, and Loge belongs to his Wagner roles too. The Liszt Prize was awarded in 2008 and the title of Artist of Merit in 2022. He taught at the Faculty of Music and Visual Arts of the University of Pécs from 2018 to 2023.
