Кристина Хинова

Bulgarian orchestras have heard Kristina Hinova as a violin soloist in their concert seasons. She began the violin at six with Ekaterina Dramalieva and from 2004 studied with Angel Stankov, and won the Grand Prix of the Nedyalka Simeonova competition in Haskovo in 2005 and a bronze medal at the Second World Delphic Games in Saratov in 2008. She went on to the Vienna Conservatory and returned to become assistant leader of the second violins of the Sofia Philharmonic. She was later the first woman in forty years admitted to the Sofia Quartet, succeeding Stoimen Peev as its leader, and with the Varna Philharmonic under Angel Stankov she played Beethoven's Violin Concerto.
