Лаурентиу Ганеа

Laurențiu Ganea's compositions draw on ancient and biblical texts and Romanian musical traditions. Born in Ploiești, he studied music theory at the National University of Music in Bucharest before turning to composition, and has since pursued interdisciplinary work on sacred space and cultural heritage. His catalogue covers orchestral, chamber, choral and vocal music. He belongs to the Romanian Composers and Musicologists Union. His Five Lyrical and Mystical Poems, composed in 2021–2022, set ancient Greek texts by Sappho for soprano, harp and three percussionists.
