Биография
Leonid Lavrovsky's choreography for Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet was made in Leningrad in 1940, with Galina Ulanova as Juliet, and transferred to the Bolshoi in 1946. He died in 1967. The Romeo and Juliet that opened the Sofia Easter Festival in 2003 was staged to his choreography. He left the Petrograd ballet school in 1922 for the company later known as the Kirov Ballet, and directed the ballet of the Maly and Kirov theatres before the Bolshoi, which took the Romeo and Juliet into its repertoire in 1946. The Stone Flower and revisions of the classics belong to the same catalogue, and he taught at GITIS and at the Moscow ballet school.
