Ли Хуанхун

Heard at the Atatürk Cultural Centre on 10 May 2025, Li HuanHong sang in the gala that opened the sixteenth International Istanbul Opera and Ballet Festival, in a company of soloists drawn from Turkey and abroad. The Istanbul State Opera and Ballet Orchestra played. The Chinese bass took first prize at the Leyla Gencer Competition in Istanbul in 2024, with the Deutsche Oper Berlin and Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic special awards alongside it. As a member of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala he sang the Monk and a Flemish Deputy in Don Carlo, the Alcalde in La forza del destino under Riccardo Chailly, Angelotti in Tosca and Alidoro in La Cenerentola. He made his debut as the Grand Inquisitor in Don Carlo at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, as Angelotti at La Monnaie and as the Commendatore with the Orchestre National de Lyon, and has also sung at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, the Grand Theatre de Tours and with the orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. He is based in Milan.
