Биография
Paris, Siena and Rome shaped Luisa Sello's flute playing: she studied with Raymond Guiot and Alain Marion, with Severino Gazzelloni at the Accademia Chigiana and with Conrad Klemm, and has since built a career that runs from Carnegie Hall to the orchestras of La Scala and the Vienna Symphony, working with conductors including Riccardo Muti and Trevor Pinnock. Contemporary music is central to it — she has given premières of Salvatore Sciarrino and Aldo Clementi — and her discs appear on Stradivarius, Dynamic and the Beijing label Millennium. She taught at the conservatoires of Milan and Trieste, held a doctoral professorship by 2023 at New Bulgarian University in Sofia, and has given master classes from Vienna and Edinburgh to Kyoto, Melbourne and Buenos Aires; her work as an ambassador of Italian music and culture has received support from the Italian ministry of culture. In Salzburg in October 2025 she was soloist with the Vogtland Philharmonie Greiz/Reichenbach. Her doctorates are two, one in performing arts and one in linguistic and literary sciences, and beside the premieres of Sciarrino and Clementi she has given first performances of Rainer Bischof. She has played at the Juilliard School and Suntory Hall and worked with the Thailand Symphony Orchestra and the Prazak Quartet, with Philippe Entremont, Bruno Canino, Alirio Diaz and Karl Leister among her partners. The Moyse International Flute Competition, held at New Bulgarian University and first run in 2023, was her idea, and she was its artistic director and a jury member in 2023.
