Марк Маршал

Born in Baden-Baden in 1963, Marc Marshall studied jazz at the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles before completing a baritone's training at the Karlsruhe Hochschule für Musik. From 1997 he sang in the duo Marshall & Alexander with the tenor Jay Alexander, whose repertoire combined classical music, Schlager, pop and sacred music. A farewell tour was announced for 2022–23. His own writing has produced, among other things, the anthem "Hand in Hand" and "A Song for Harry", a tribute to Harry Belafonte. He founded the annual Mr M’s Jazz Club festival at the Kurhaus in Baden-Baden in 2008, and he presented the SWR programme Fröhlicher Weinberg between 2007 and 2010. The album Times To Love was made at Abbey Road in London and at Capitol Studios in Los Angeles with the producer Chris Walden, and Hand in Hand was written for DHL. Andrea Bocelli, Aretha Franklin and Till Brönner are among those he has sung with.
