Марион Аман

Marion Ammann has sung the Empress in Die Frau ohne Schatten and Isolde in German and Nordic opera houses. Born in Zürich in 1964 and a citizen of Herisau, she came to singing by way of the Academy for School and Church Music in Lucerne, where she received her teaching diploma in 1991, with private study in Zurich and Berne and teachers including Kurt Widmer, Edith Mathis and Daniel Ferro; she took her opera qualification at the Biel opera studio in 1997. Lady Macbeth and Beethoven's Leonore are among her roles, and she has sung in Antwerp, Graz, Karlsruhe, Saarbrücken, Helsinki and at Oper Klosterneuburg. A Bayreuth scholarship and awards from the cantons of Graubünden and Solothurn stand early in the record. In 2009 she appeared at Classic Openair Solothurn, including performances of Die Fledermaus in July.
