Биография
Don Giovanni was the role with which Mirco Palazzi began, sung in Riva del Garda; he studied with Robleto Merolla at the Conservatorio Rossini in Pesaro. Born in Rimini, he had come to singing by way of the piano, and gathered prizes as a student: firsts at the Zandonai and Masini competitions, second place at the Ferruccio Tagliavini. Wexford gave him Dvořák's Jakobín in 2001 and an international career followed — La Scala, La Fenice, the Concertgebouw, the Teatro Regio in Parma, the Edinburgh Festival, the Royal Festival Hall. His repertoire runs through Rossini, Donizetti, Mozart and Handel, with Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Ferrando in Il trovatore, Assur in Semiramide and Seneca in L'incoronazione di Poppea among his parts. Opera Rara has recorded him in works of the Italian nineteenth century: Rossini's Zelmira and Adelaide di Borgogna, Donizetti's Pia de' Tolomei and Il diluvio universale.
