From Porto, where he began his vocal study with Fernanda Correia, Pedro Telles went on to a degree in theatre singing and a master's in voice at the Fundação Conservatório Regional de Gaia, and to periods of work with Ileana Cotrubaș, Rudolf Piernay, Charles Spencer, Hilde Zadek, Paul von Schilhawsky and António Salgado. Papageno, Germont, Masetto, Malatesta, Figaro, Marcello and Monterone make up the operatic side of his singing; the oratorio side reaches from Bach and Mozart to Fauré, Vaughan Williams and Karl Jenkins. He has appeared in Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, France, Poland, Brazil and Dubai, with the Orquestra do Norte and the Orquestra das Beiras, with the Círculo Portuense de Ópera and at the Coliseu do Porto. He teaches at the University of Minho, directs its university choir, and leads the Coro de São Tarcísio.
