Петър Кушлев

Petar Kushlev took the solo part in Fairytales for Violoncello, given twice on 16 February 2013 in the Chamber Hall of Bulgaria Hall as part of the Sofia Philharmonic's Fortissimo Family series — cello concertos by Vivaldi and Haydn set beside short orchestral numbers and film music for an audience of children and parents — and returned as soloist in Tales for Cello with the same orchestra in February 2015. Chamber work and crossover projects with Bulgarian independent ensembles account for much of his playing besides. No musician's family stood behind him; the cello was his own choice, made as a child. His training ran through the National School of Music and then the Music Academy in Sofia, after which he played in a number of countries.
