Пламена Гиргинова

Plamena Girginova sang Violetta in La traviata at the Kaylaka Summer Theatre in Pleven on 27 June 2023, with the Pleven Philharmonic and the Ghena Dimitrova Municipal Choir — an open-air Traviata, in a park theatre, on a June evening. A soprano of the lyric and coloratura repertoire, she divides her work between opera, operetta and the concert platform. Born in Sofia in 1989, she studied with Mila Dyulgerova at the National Academy of Music and took first prizes at the Ghena Dimitrova and Gustav Mahler competitions, and in 2015 a Boris Hristov Foundation fellowship brought her to Renata Scotto at the Santa Cecilia opera studio in Rome. Varna Opera gave her the Queen of the Night in 2021 and Olympia in The Tales of Hoffmann, and she first sang Violetta in April 2023 at the Golden Diana festival in Yambol, a year after a Bulgarian premiere of Mozart's Zaide in Sofia.
