Райнхолд Ригер

Viola playing in the Vienna Philharmonic is one half of Reinhold Rieger's working life; the other is spent as a Tonmeister, directing recordings and taking responsibility for the sound that reaches the disc. His recordings have won international awards, he teaches at the conducting institute of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, and in 2010 he received the Bundesverdienstkreuz am Bande of the Federal Republic of Germany for his work with young musicians and in cultural exchange. He founded Kaleidoskop der Nationen, which brings international music students before Viennese audiences.
