Биография
A summer performance on Nikola Vaptsarov Square in Bansko, on 24 August 2018, put Rusi Nikov into Puccini's La bohème under the open sky, in the mountain town's own centre rather than a theatre. Nikov read opera singing at the National Academy of Music Prof. Pancho Vladigerov in Sofia with Konstantsa Vachkova and Professor Ivan Vulpe, and began his career at the Burgas Opera. Master classes of the European Opera Centre in Manchester followed, and work with Renata Scotto, Kostas Paskalis, Marta Lantieri and Ghena Dimitrova, and in Vienna with Krassimira Stoyanova. The baritone's parts include Figaro, Count Almaviva, Don Giovanni, Marcello, Rodrigo, Germont, Escamillo, Onegin, Amonasro, Count di Luna, Tarquinius, Gerard, Aleko, Renato and Falstaff; on the concert platform Mozart's Requiem, Dvorak's Stabat Mater, Beethoven's Ninth, Haydn's Theresienmesse and Carmina Burana. He has sung in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Paris, Trieste, Cairo, Prague and Tokyo, at Sankt Margarethen and Baden in Austria, and often at the Vienna Konzerthaus and the Musikverein.
