Биография
In March 2002 Sava Stoyanov set down Vasil Kazandjiev's Trumpet Concerto with the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra — a contemporary Bulgarian concerto committed to record by a Bulgarian trumpeter. Nayden Todorov conducted the recording. Born in 1976 in Dobrich, he took his first notes on his brother's trumpet and studied with Ivan Babev in the youth wind band of his home town; at fourteen he moved to the music school in Varna and the class of Ivan Iliev, and in 1999 he took his diploma at the State Academy of Music in Sofia, by which time he had become first solo trumpet of the Sofia National Philharmonic. Further study followed with Uwe Komischke in Weimar and Matthias Hoefs in Hamburg, completed with a diploma in 2004, along with masterclasses with Edward H. Tarr, Jean-Bernard Beauchamp and Pierre Thibaud. He joined Ensemble Modern in 2002 and has been invited as solo trumpet by the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the SWR Symphony Orchestra Baden-Baden and Freiburg and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. His portrait disc Lyulka appeared on Ensemble Modern Medien in 2009.
