Биография
Yerevan in 2006 brought Stefano Anselmi his Iago, sung in Verdi's Otello with the Armenian National Philharmonic under Eduard Topchjan. Through the decade either side of it the Italian baritone's stage work ran to Nabucco, Aida, Pagliacci and Rossini's Barbiere, in Italy and Germany and as far as New York and Ontario. In August 2002 he was in the State Opera Plovdiv's Carmen at Stuttgart, on a bill that set the tenors Massimiliano Drapello, Stefano Germani and Ruggero Bogani beside the Bulgarian popular singer Orlin Pavlov. He also coaches professional singers. He made his operatic debut in 1988 and for more than twenty years sang the baritone leads — Nabucco, Rigoletto, Iago, Conte di Luna, Scarpia — in Italy and abroad. Teaching has run beside the singing for three decades, with opera singers, actors, dubbing artists, dancers and performers from musicals, jazz and popular song. He has sat on juries of Italian and international competitions, and in 2006 taught with William Matteuzzi and Sara Mingardo on a European Social Fund course for selected young graduates. Master classes have taken him to Vilnius, Berlin, Malmö and Tehran, and from 2007 to 2011 he led the Avvio al debutto opera workshop with the Orchestra Rossini of Pesaro, preparing Madama Butterfly, La traviata, La bohème, Il trovatore and Rigoletto. With Cristina Pietrantonio he published Le tre anime del suono in 2013.
