Seoul first, then Milan: Taesung Lee read classical singing at Hanyang University and moved in 2009 to the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory, where he sang the Duke of Mantua. France followed — CNIPAL in 2013, with engagements in Marseille, Avignon and Toulon — and in 2015 he took second prizes at the Simionato competition in Acqui Terme and the Fraschini in Pavia. His repertoire runs through Alfredo and Pinkerton to Calaf, which he sang in Sofia in 2017; two years earlier he had been one of the singers in Raina Kabaivanska's Sofia master class and appeared in its gala that September. Since 2019 he has sung in the chorus of the Paris Opera, taking small solo roles there.
