Теодора Чукурска

Teodora Chukurska has sung as a soloist with State Opera Rousse, in the company's home city and in Sofia, in casts that included Alexander Baranov, Peter Kostov, Georgios Filadelfefs and Maria Tsvetkova- Madzharova, and appeared in Richard Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier at the Rousse opera on 19 March 2017. She completed her studies at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome and worked on chamber music with Edda Moser in France, then won a scholarship to the two-year course of La Scala's academy for the art and craft of opera, where she worked with Leyla Gencer, Luigi Alva and Luciana Serra; her training closed with Rosina in Jean-Pierre Ponnelle's staging of Il barbiere di Siviglia at La Scala in the 2004/2005 season, conducted by Enrique Mazzola. In September 2006 she won the second Franco Alfano competition in San Remo as Norina. She made her debut at the National Opera in Sofia in 2008, as Oscar in Un ballo in maschera and as Miss Ellen in Lakme, and became a soloist of the State Opera Rousse in 2012, singing there from January 2013 as Gilda and afterwards as Donna Anna, Violetta, Liu, Hanna Glawari and Mariza.
