Валя Дервенска

Since 2002 Valya Dervenska has appeared as a soloist with the Plovdiv Philharmonic, in Plovdiv and in Stara Zagora, sharing one of those programmes with Orit Orbach. Dervenska has held the concertmaster's desk of the Heidelberg philharmonic, standing in 2013 alongside the general music director Yordan Kamdzhalov and the resident composer Martin Georgiev; on 21 September 2014 she played a recital at the city's new theatre with the Vienna-based pianist Nadya Vacheva. In Bulgaria she has appeared as soloist with the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra — with Emil Tabakov in Bulgaria Hall in January 2009 and at the opening of the 2011–2012 season at the National Palace of Culture — with the Sofia Soloists chamber ensemble under Plamen Djurov in 2006 and Simeon Pironkov in 2007, and with the Classic FM Radio Orchestra under Jan Latham-Koenig. She has returned repeatedly to the Apollonia festival.
