Веселин Михайлов

Veselin Mihaylov sang in the gala that closed Raina Kabaivanska's master class at Bulgaria Hall on 30 September 2010, with the Sofia Philharmonic behind him, in an evening of arias by Mozart, Verdi, Puccini, Donizetti, Massenet and Bizet. Mihaylov was born in Burgas in 1985 and read classical singing at the Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music with Maria Belcheva; a doctorate followed in 2020. He studied further at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and in Raina Kabaivanska's master class at Modena, holding scholarships from the Boris Christoff Foundation and the Raina Kabaivanska Fund, which named him among its holders for 2010. Count di Luna, Giorgio Germont, Amonasro, Marcello, Alfio, Escamillo, Zurga, Klingsor, Orest and Prince Igor are among his roles. He has recorded in the studios of Bulgarian National Radio and sung in Japan, Germany, Austria, Russia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia and Hungary.
