Vito Martino was one of the soloists in Die Nacht der 5 Tenöre at Burg Monschau on 15 July 2004, a gala of operatic arias — the Nabucco overture, Tombe degli avi miei from Lucia di Lammermoor, Tamino's aria from Die Zauberflöte, Una furtiva lagrima from L'elisir d'amore — shared with Walter Barbaria and the other tenors of the evening. Martino studied at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan and has sung Rossini in Genoa, Bologna, Rome and Monte Carlo, with Donizetti, Mozart and earlier Italian composers alongside, and German and French song and contemporary music in recital. The sacred repertoire brings him Bach, Handel, Haydn and Mozart, and he has recorded Rossini, Galuppi, Hasse and Sammartini.
