Биография
Concerto, chamber and orchestral playing divide Yoana Kamenarska's work, in a repertoire that reaches from Mozart to the music of her own time. The two extremes of it met within seven years: Mozart's Fifth Violin Concerto with the Sofia Philharmonic at Bulgaria Hall in March 2006, and Ligeti's Violin Concerto with the orchestra of State Opera Rousse in April 2013, framed there by the Schubert dances in Webern's orchestration and the Linz Symphony. She began the violin at five with Joakim Atanasov at the Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music, entered Josif Radionov's class at twelve and studied afterwards with Ruggiero Ricci and Igor Ozim, taking third prize at the Mozart competition in Salzburg in 2002 and first prize at the Nedyalka Simeonova competition in Haskovo. She became the first woman to hold the concertmaster's chair of the Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg and lectures at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre; her recordings include Inizio with Irina Georgieva from 2014 and Landscapes with Moisés Fernandez Via from 2018. Her instrument is a Lorenzo Guadagnini of 1740, the Ex-Flesh.
