Stupid Little Things was the first single from Resurrection, the album Anastacia released in May 2014 after a second diagnosis of breast cancer and a double mastectomy in 2013. The album title refers directly to that interruption; the singer had cancelled a tour and spent most of the previous year in treatment. The song itself is deliberately light in subject — small irritations rather than illness — and was written that way as a counterweight. It reached the charts across German-speaking Europe and Italy, her strongest territories throughout her career.
