Belasitsa, Epic Poem for symphony Orchestra

Belasitsa, an epic poem for symphony orchestra by Georgi Andreev, received first prize in the Sofia Philharmonic’s 7/8 competition. The final ranking was determined by the audience, in keeping with the competition’s central principle: to place new Bulgarian symphonic music, rooted in the country’s asymmetrical rhythms, in direct dialogue with its listeners.
