Skyfall

Skyfall was written by Adele and Paul Epworth for the twenty-third James Bond film and released on 5 October 2012 — the date the producers had designated Global James Bond Day, fifty years after Dr. No. It was recorded at Abbey Road with an orchestra of seventy-seven players, arranged by J.A.C. Redford, and deliberately reaches back to the Barry-era title songs, with the Bond chord quoted at the start. In February 2013 it became the first song from the series to win the Academy Award for best original song, having already taken a Golden Globe and a Grammy.
