King Arthur's Ride

King Arthur's Ride belongs to the group of Leitner's own compositions for flute, harp and orchestra recorded from 2009 onwards. Its subject is the Arthurian matter she returned to repeatedly, alongside Celtic and elemental themes; her albums are organised around earth, sky and fire. Leitner played flute and piccolo in the Vienna State Opera orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic, the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Irish Chamber Orchestra before concentrating on her own work. Only a recording of the piece is documented; no score or first performance has been traced.
