Mitra's Dance takes its title from the Indo-Iranian deity Mitra and belongs to the exotic strand in Leitner's catalogue, alongside her Tibetan and oceanic pieces. It exists in one recorded version, made with harp and orchestra behind her own flute. Leitner, Vienna-born in 1972 and trained there and in Freiburg, has built her composing around a fixed instrumental combination. No publisher, score or performance history has been documented for this piece.
