Village d'Artistes is one of Leitner's French-titled pieces, standing alongside Carousel du Montmartre and Palazzo Barbaro in a small group evoking specific European places. It is preserved in a single recording for flute, harp and orchestra. Leitner was born in Vienna in 1972, studied with Wolfgang Schulz and Robert Aitken, and played as solo flautist and piccolo player with the Vienna State Opera orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic and the BBC Symphony Orchestra before building a career around her own compositions. No score, date or first performance has been documented.
