Devil's Dance

The Devil's Dance is a showpiece by Dobri Paliev, for decades the leading Bulgarian percussionist and the man who did most to establish percussion as a solo discipline in the country. He taught at the State Academy of Music in Sofia and wrote for his own instruments; the piece belongs to a repertoire he largely had to create himself, since almost nothing existed for Bulgarian percussion soloists before him.
