Gospodsko horo belongs to Bulgarian Songs and Dances, the cycle Vladigerov catalogued as op. 25, which began as piano pieces and which he himself scored for string orchestra in 1969, together with Right horo and Ratchenitza. The title refers to a formal, unhurried round dance rather than a village one, and the setting keeps that character: an even tread, the melody passed between the string groups, and none of the metric asymmetry that drives the composer's faster dances. The French title Grande danse en rond comes from the printed edition.
