For the Greatest and Little Things is a 2011 album by the Wladigeroff Brothers, the Bulgarian twins Konstantin and Alexander Wladigeroff, who work out of Vienna. Its twelve tracks set original pieces beside arrangements of Bulgarian folk material — Smolyansko vaklo devoyche among them — and move between jazz phrasing and the asymmetrical metres of the Balkan repertoire. Rachenitsa takes the seven-beat dance that is the most widespread of Bulgarian folk forms and keeps its irregular grouping intact while treating it as material for improvisation, with the two brass players carrying the line.
