Bayside, NY

Bayside's cultural facilities include the campus of Queensborough Community College, part of the City University of New York. The college serves Queens and surrounding communities through academic programmes and public cultural institutions, including an art gallery, the Kupferberg Holocaust Center and the Queensborough Performing Arts Center.

The performing arts centre brings professional productions to a 790-seat theatre. Its annual Professional Performing Arts Series is designed to make live entertainment accessible to local audiences, including families, younger people and seniors. The programme reflects the cultural diversity of Queens, while the theatre also serves as a learning environment for the college's students. This combination of public performance and education gives the campus a role beyond its degree programmes, connecting students with the wider community through the arts.
