Kiryat Haim is Haifa's seaside workers' garden — and the concert record's most local Israeli address. Founded in 1933 as a planned workers' suburb on the bay north of the city, one of the "Krayot" townships that line the coast, it was laid out on garden-city principles: low houses, sandy lanes to the sea, communal institutions at the centre — Labour Zionism drawn as a neighbourhood plan. Administratively it belongs to Haifa (a status flagged for the workbook, in the manner of the register's other absorbed localities), but its identity has stayed its own: a beach community of long standing, its strand among the bay's best, its residents loyal to the "Kirya" across generations. The record lists it in the plainest form — the "Theatre", the local auditorium. The source's description fits exactly: chamber concerts, school ensembles, festival visits — musical life at the scale of neighbourliness. A planned utopia that became simply a pleasant place: Kiryat Haim keeps the modest promise its founders drew in the sand.
