ADDA Simfònica Alicante was established in 2018 as the resident orchestra of the Auditorio de la Diputación de Alicante. Under its founding conductor Josep Vicent, it has developed symphonic, staged and recording projects that place Spanish music alongside the international repertoire. Collaborations have included productions with Emilio Sagi and La Fura dels Baus, a symphonic tribute to Chick Corea and premieres by contemporary composers. The orchestra has recorded for labels including Warner Classics and Parma Recordings, while its educational and social work brings performances to schools, hospitals and residential care settings. The orchestra is resident at the Auditorio de la Diputación de Alicante, a hall opened in 2011 to a design by Juan Antonio García Solera, whose main room seats 1,500 and takes up to 120 players and a chorus of 140. Josep Vicent, born in Altea and trained in Alicante and Amsterdam, has run both house and orchestra since 2016. Its recording of The Chick Corea Symphony Tribute — Ritmo brought a Grammy nomination in 2024.
