The Auditorio del Palacio de Congresos in Ourense heard Carmen on 25 November 2013, the day after La Baneza and among the last dates of the Operisima tour of Spain. The hall was built jointly by the Spanish Ministry of Culture, the Xunta de Galicia and the Ourense city council, and admitted its first audience on 17 March 2005. Its formal artistic opening followed on 4 April 2005 with a recital by Josep Carreras. Besides the main auditorium the building holds two smaller rooms, the Blue and the Red, and takes theatre, dance, concerts and opera. The Auditorio-Palacio de Congresos de Ourense is a cultural and conference complex beside the former convent of San Francisco. Designed by Xosé Manuel Casabella López, it combines granite, aluminium and glass around a prominent stage tower.
