Burgas Municipality

Burgas keeps its concert life largely in municipal hands: the open-air Summer Theatre, the Sea Casino cultural centre with its outdoor stage and the Flora exhibition hall all belong to the municipality, and the season is built around them. With the State Opera Burgas it organises Burgas Music Days – Emil Chakarov, a two-month festival of opera, ballet and symphonic concerts named after the conductor born in the town, each edition of which is required to carry at least two premieres. Jazz, folk, film and puppet festivals fill out a calendar that runs the length of the summer.
