Kosovo Philharmonic Orchestra

The Kosovo Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 2000, first as a string ensemble and subsequently as a chamber orchestra. It continued an orchestral tradition associated with Radio Television Prishtina, whose ensemble had ceased operating in 1990. Supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Philharmonic developed regular seasons of symphonic and operatic music, placing Albanian composers alongside the wider concert repertoire. Its soloists have included Inva Mula, Ermonela Jaho, Tedi Papavrami and Kian Soltani. Nayden Todorov is among the guest conductors who have worked with the orchestra.
