Kosovo

The Kosovo Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in Pristina in 2000, starting as a string ensemble and later enlarging. An opera sector was established within the Philharmonic in 2004. The Kosovo Opera became a separate institution in 2021, with an inaugural concert given jointly with the Philharmonic and the National Ballet. On 15 December 2022 it staged Verdi's La traviata, its first complete opera production.
