Kosovo's ministry of culture, youth and sport, seated in Prishtina, is the parent body of the territory's national performing institutions: the Kosovo Philharmonic, the National Theatre and the Ballet of Kosovo. The Philharmonic was constituted in 2000 as a continuation of the Prishtina Radio-Television Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1975, whose work was broken off by the Serbian administration in 1990. The ministry finances those bodies and stands as co-promoter of their larger concerts.
