Kultur- und Bürgerhaus

Denzlingen's Kultur & Bürgerhaus opened in early 2003 as a civic and cultural centre. The building stands at 30 Stuttgarter Straße in a landscaped setting with water features and terraces. It combines spaces for cultural performances, community gatherings, conferences and private events with a restaurant. Renovation of its building-control systems began in January 2023. The complex is also associated with the name Delcanto. Its identity is that of a multipurpose civic venue, rather than an institution devoted exclusively to orchestral concerts. Denzlingen occupies the mouth of the Glotter valley just north of Freiburg, where the Black Forest drops away into the Breisgau plain. Its Kultur- und Bürgerhaus belongs to the community, and the Großer Saal is the largest room in it — flat, adaptable, given over in turn to choral societies, school concerts, civic assemblies and whatever touring programmes a market town can attract. Nothing about it is grand. It is simply where Denzlingen listens.
