Kurtheater Bad Homburg

Bad Homburg vor der Höhe made its name from mineral springs and, from 1841, from the gaming tables that François and Louis Blanc ran before they carried the idea to Monte Carlo. The Kurtheater belongs to that spa quarter, standing among the springs and promenades of the Kurpark rather than in the town centre. Its calendar has long mixed drama, orchestral concerts and staged opera; the overture to Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro and Puccini's Turandot have both sounded there.
