Irv Kratka founded Music Minus One in 1950 on a simple and slightly eccentric premise: record an accompaniment, leave out the solo, and sell the result to the person who wants to play it. The catalogue that grew from it pairs printed music with professional recordings from which the principal part has been omitted, so that an amateur or a student can rehearse a concerto against a real orchestra rather than a piano reduction. It came to cover classical concertos, opera arias, chamber repertory, jazz and popular song, and was later absorbed into the Hal Leonard publishing group. For several generations of players it was the only orchestra they ever performed with.
He has fine people skills and has shown himself extremely capable of overseeing rehearsals, working closely with soloists and orchestra members, and promoting an infectious enthusiasm among the musical and technical personnel involved. He has remained extremely trustworthy in all regards.

Maestro Todorov has conducted himself with the most admirable qualities we could have asked for, completing each task in a timely and excellent fashion, often in the face of difficulties that would have prevented another conductor from achieving his goals.
